Melbourne Market in The Age Good Food

Last week, the Melbourne Market was featured in The Age Good Food. The article showcased the market’s people and highlighted the important role the market plays by creating opportunities and competition within the fresh produce industry. It captured the community, the small businesses that power the market, and the opportunities the market provides for smaller growers and wholesalers who do not supply the big supermarkets.

With a focus on increasing the Melbourne Market’s brand visibility, the MMA has been working closely with media outlets to create relationships with relevant journalists, inviting them to experience the market firsthand to better understand its operations and place in the fresh produce supply chain.

Children in the Market

Children in the Market is back today and tomorrow!

Children must be pre-registered before the event and accompanied by their parent or guardian. Please complete the registration form here, print it, and return it to Customer Service*.

A reminder to all market users that children are only permitted to enter the Market on these two days. Infringements will apply and you will be asked to leave the market should you bring your children in outside of these days.

*Please note: All submitted forms will be automatically approved unless you are notified otherwise.

Our biggest priority is safety. We ask that children be accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times and for market users to be especially vigilant and conscious that they will be onsite over these two days. Please ensure you and your guests wear seatbelts when riding in electric buggies.

A better choice! & Australian Mushroom Growers Association Campaign

‘The Blend’ is the nutritional powerhouse combination of mushroom + mince, blended in meals such as burgers.

‘The Blend’ offers a meatier-flavoured meal, in a plant-forward and more nutritious way without sacrificing taste!

To highlight the campaign, AGMA is giving away a kitchen makeover to one lucky customer. Ayse will be rolling out over the next few weeks; keep an eye out!

Industry News

Due to weather conditions, this year’s Australian grape production season commenced earlier than usual. By mid-March, a substantial volume had already reached the Chinese market via sea shipments, arriving approximately one to two weeks ahead of schedule compared to previous years.
