Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show

Only three weeks to go, and we are getting excited!

From Wednesday, 29 March to Sunday, 2 April, the National Flower Centre (NFC) will host two retail flower market stands, one in the Royal Exhibition Building and the other at the Victoria Street entry/exit, showcasing the stunning range of flowers from Victorian Growers to encourage the industry to purchase from the NFC.

To ensure a successful event, we need your support with the following:

Supply of flowers
To promote the National Flower Centre and connect visitors with standholders and growers, we would like you to complete this form, if you haven’t already, by ticking every variety you grow, stock and import and email it to Theresa.

Stage performances
The NFC has time on the main stage each day, and we are looking for growers, wholesalers and florists to participate in the following:

  1. Chat to Grower  – we would like a couple of growers to be part of a panel, sharing the challenges with growing fresh-cut flowers
  2. Florists to participate in a Master Box challenge – Grower nominated flowers, and a florist transforms them into something spectacular
  3. Tips and tricks for maintaining your flowers and creating a perfect display for your home
  4. Other suggestions are welcome

If you can participate, please contact Theresa.

Exhibitors from the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show have been invited to attend the NFC to purchase their flowers for a limited time. Please welcome the new faces and show them why the NFC has the best flowers available!

Harmony Day

Harmony Day is a day to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, it’s about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values.

To celebrate the different cultural backgrounds in the Melbourne Market, we would love for you to submit a recipe that represents your country of ancestry and, of course, fruit or veg, even better if it has been passed down through family generations! There is nothing quite like nanna’s/nonna’s/oma’s/yiayia’s/lao lao’s/bà’s home-cooked meal!

Your recipes will come alive in an online flipbook for the Market community to enjoy, and three lucky recipes will be selected to feature in the A better choice! magazine, which has a national reach and is great exposure for your business.

Please submit your recipes here no later than Friday, 24 March.
