| Coronavirus (COVID-19) update – Wednesday 8 September – Last days of Vaccination Hub – COVID outbreak in Melbourne’s North Last days of Vaccination Hub There are just two days left to get your COVID-19 Vaccination on-site at the Melbourne Market. Our on-site Vaccination Hub has allowed all market users access to the Pfizer vaccine without having to navigate online booking systems or long lines at public vaccination centres. It has been a huge advantage for market users and has made the vaccination process quick and simple. We encourage as many people as possible to take advantage of the on-site Vaccination Hub in these final two days of the first-dose operation. Operating hours for the last two days are: – Thursday 6 am – 12 pm – Friday 3 am – 9 am Please ensure you arrive at least 30 minutes before Vaccination Hub closing time, as you may be turned away by Austin Health if queues are long and they are approaching closing time. The MMA is working closely with the Department of Health, advocating for Austin Health to return to the Melbourne Market to administer second doses. We are currently finalising details and look forward to sharing more information about second doses on-site with the Market community later this week. COVID outbreak in Melbourne’s North There are currently increasing numbers of COVID cases being reported in Melbourne’s North, in close proximity to the Melbourne Market. In particular, Costco Epping has been deemed an outbreak of concern, with now over 10 cases linked to the site. It is important you continue to use QR codes to check in as you go about your daily life everywhere you go. If you are identified as a tier 1 or 2 contact, you must follow relevant testing and isolation requirements. The critical piece of advice for Market users is, if you are feeling unwell, you should get a COVID test and isolate until you receive a negative result. Do not attend the Market for work, or to purchase flowers or produce, if you are feeling unwell in any way. The most effective way to protect yourself, your loved ones and your colleagues from coronavirus is by following COVIDSafe rules. – Wear your face mask over your mouth and nose at all times – Ensure you are keeping 1.5 metres from others – Do not shake hands or come into close contact with others – Get your COVID-19 vaccination as soon as possible.
