The following market locations have been classified as tier 1 exposure sites.

The following market locations have been classified as tier 2 exposure sites.
Anyone who has visited the below Tier 2 exposure sites during times listed should urgently get a COVID-19 test and isolate until they receive a negative result.
Continue to monitor for symptoms, get tested again if symptoms appear.

Friday 20 August

Saturday 21 August
– Warehouse 4.1 (office only), 3.04AM – 9:50AM
Sunday 22 August

The entire Melbourne Market site has been classified as tier 3 exposure site.
Every Melbourne Market user who attended the site during the days and times listed and should monitor for symptoms. If symptoms develop, you should immediately get a COVID-19 test and isolate until you receive a negative result.

Billal Khaladi is the positive COVID-19 case. He has consented to his name being released so Market users who have come into contact with him can immediately isolate and get a COVID test. We wish Billal a speedy recovery.

If you have attended any of the exposure locations listed, or come into contact with Billal during the days listed above, you must get a COVID test and isolate as directed.

If you are a Business Principal or manager, you must contact your staff tonight, before they make their way to the Melbourne Market, to ensure they are aware of the situation and do not attend the Market if they have been to any of the exposure locations as listed above.

The MMA is continuing with our own internal investigations, reviewing CCTV footage. We’re also working with the DHHS as they continue their contact tracing process. We will provide any further updates as they become available.

We understand that this directive will affect several businesses, and many market users will be unable to attend the site, but you must follow these directions. The implications of further COVID cases in the Market could force additional closures and negatively impact the fresh produce supply chain.

Now more than ever, we must work together, do the right thing and follow COVIDSafe practices.
– Wear your face mask over your mouth and nose at all times
– Ensure you are keeping 1.5 metres from others
– Do not shake hands or come into close contact with others.
