Recycling Transfer Centre

You may have noticed our new Recycling Transfer Centre, (located near the front of the Market) is almost complete.

We’re currently working on some finishing touches and look forward to opening the new centre in early June. The new Recycling Transfer Centre will make disposing of waste quicker, easier and more efficient.

Stay tuned for more details next week.

Forklift cross over maintenance

As you may be aware, the undercover forklift cross the MMA has recently completed maintenance on the main, covered forklift route that runs North to South through the centre of the trading stands (T2). This work included grinding of the concrete for a smoother ride.

The second stage of this work is now scheduled to be completed from Wednesday 25 May to Sunday 29 May. This work will remove the final bump that occurs at the end of the covered section of the route where the concrete meets the asphalt.

What this means for you

Maintenance on this route will occur outside of main trading hours, however the Southern undercover forklift route will be closed from 10:00am Wednesday 25 May and reopen Sunday evening on 29 May.

During this time, forklifts will not be able to use this route. Drivers should seek alternate route around the perimeter of the trading floor complex.

Pedestrian access will remain open during trading hours.

If you’re unsure, keep a look out for the directional signs, or ask a Market Relations Officer. Alternatively you can view the main forklift routes on the site overview map

These works reduce the bumps in the forklift route, minimising the risk of accidents and loss of produce.

Save the date – free Market business forum
