Advisory Committee meetings this week

Both of these Advisory Committees are scheduled to have a quarterly meeting with the MMA tomorrow.

Emergency Management Training

To assist in creating a safe working environment, the MMA is offering a free training session on the emergency management procedures at the Melbourne Market.  The course will provide information on:

  • location of emergency assembly areas
  • warden structures and cover some basic responsibilities
  • raising the alarm of an emergency
  • evacuating safely in the event of a fire or hazardous materials emergency
  • the type of fire equipment.

This session is open to all Market users.

Market satisfaction survey reminder

Fruit and vegetable growers and retailers should have received an invitation to participate in an online Market satisfaction survey yesterday.

Don’t forget to complete the short, five minute survey for the chance to win a $100 gift card.

Office space for rent

Do you need an office at the Melbourne Market or need some extra space to conduct business?

The Melbourne Market Administration Building has been revamped and only one office remains available for rent on the ground floor.

It’s in a prime location at the entry to the Administration Building.

Safety in the Market

Market Emergencies and Market Operations stickers

A reminder to place your Market Emergencies and Market Operations stickers on your forklift, electric vehicle, or in your store or stand.These stickers list the numbers to call when there is an emergency or security issue in the Market.

If you place the stickers on your electric vehicle’s windscreen, make sure you avoid your direct line-of-sight and stick it on the bottom left or right hand corner.

If you haven’t received a sticker, they’re available at the Customer Service Centre for collection.

Industry News

Free branded cherry bags available

To celebrate the arrival of cherry season, Horticulture Innovation Australia has provided some great branded cherry bags for Melbourne Market retailers.

The free bags are available from the Melbourne Market heritage truck in front of the Customer Service Centre.

There are also a few posters for in-store displays and cherry buntings.

Hurry though – stocks are limited!

On-site forklift refresher training

On-site forklift refresher training will be delivered at the Melbourne Market in 3-hour blocks over a 2-day period for a total of 6 hours.
