Christmas trading at the Market – what you need to know.
This year Christmas and New Year fall on a weekend with public holidays on the following weekdays. Below are the Christmas and New Year trading hours for 2016.
Fruit and Vegetable Market
- Thursday, 22 December 3:30am to 7:00am
- Friday, 23 December 2:00am to 7:00am
- Saturday, 24 December to Tuesday 27 December: Market Closed*
- Wednesday 28 December: 2:00am to 7:30am
- Friday, 30 December: 3:30am to 7:00am
- Saturday, 31 December: Market Closed
- Sunday, 1 January: Market Closed
- Monday, 2 January: Market Closed
- Tuesday, 3 January: 2:00am to 7:30am
Flower Market
- Thursday, 22 December 3:30am to 7:00am
- Saturday, 24 December: 4:30am to 7:30am
- Sunday 25 December to Tuesday 27 December: Market Closed
- Thursday 29 December: 3:30am to 7:00am
- Saturday, 31 December: 4:30am to 7:30am
- Sunday, 1 January: Market Closed

Warehouse access over Christmas
Warehouse access remains unchanged over the Christmas and New Year period. The Christmas Trading Hours only apply to the trading floor. Access for warehouse tenants is 24 hours 7 days a week.
*Picking up and delivering of produce over Christmas break
There will be no access to the trading floor on 24 to 27 December, being Christmas Day and Boxing Day and corresponding public holidays. Access for buyers to the Market for the distribution/collection of pre-ordered produce (as per prior arrangements with your supplier) will be allowed between 4.00 am and 6.00 am on Saturday, 24 December only.
Entry and parking for buyers after a public holiday
If you parking permit only allows access on a day where a public holiday falls, and would like to come to the Market the following day (for example your parking permit is for Monday and you would like to access the Market on Tuesday 3 January), you will not be charged for parking and can enter the Market. However please note, your regular bay may not be available. Please seek instruction from a Market Relations Officer on arrival.
