Vehicle Safety Notice

Vehicles present one of the biggest safety risks on the Melbourne Market site, especially when operating rules are not followed.

The video below is a re-enactment of a real-life forklift incident that injured a market user at the Melbourne Market.

The short animation breaks down and shows all the contributing factors that led to the collision. It reminds us of what we need to do to help ensure we all get home safely to our loved ones.

When operating a buggy or forklift, please remember the following;

  • Obey speed limits
  • Wear a seatbelt
  • Stay securely inside vehicle while in motion
  • Always have your headlights on
  • Drive on the correct side of the road
  • Do not cut through parking bays
  • Do not use a mobile phone

Market Fresh Schools Donors

Market Fresh Schools is designed to teach students the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables daily as part of a healthy, balanced diet. The program also teaches children how fresh fruits and vegetables are grown and harvested, including an overview of the market supply chain.

The program could not have gone ahead without the generous support of market traders who donated some of the delicious fresh produce that was served as part of the program.

The team from the Market Fresh Schools would like to thank the following businesses for their support:

  • Kapiris
  • Apple & Pear Co.
  • VB Sculli
  • Gazzolla
