40-year celebration wall official launch
The MMA is very excited to officially launch our 40-year celebration wall, which further recognises the life-long contribution of our gold cardholders.
The wall is filled with the names of all those who have hit the 40-year milestone in a bold display of colours, next to store 51 on the Buyers’ Walk. It has been designed so names can be added each year as market users reach the significant milestone.
Next Thursday, 16 December, the MMA will be hosting a launch event. Now that COVID restrictions have eased, it is a great opportunity to celebrate those who have reached this significant milestone over the past year and to catch up with the Market community. MMA CEO, Mark Maskiell and Chairperson, Peter Tuohey will be in attendance to present some of the recent recipients with their 40-year service certificate.
We hope to see you there!
When: Thursday, 16 December 7am

Tell us what you think in the market survey
Every year the MMA distribute the market satisfaction survey to get feedback and insights on how we’re going, what’s working, what can be improved and how we can assist your business.
The data collected is used to improve the operations, facilities and opportunities for businesses at the Melbourne Market.
Look out for a text message with a link to the survey which will be sent later this week. The first 75 market users to complete the survey will receive a $15 voucher to use at participating market cafes!

Rest in Peace, Phillip.

Youth Sports Initiative Winners presentations
Over the last week, A better choice! has had the pleasure of joining even more greengrocers as they presented more Youth Sports Initiative winners with a sporting sponsorship to the value of $500.
Thanks to Henrys Mercato for supporting Seaford Little Athletics and Sciclunas Sorrento for supporting Junior Golfer, Gracie Larsen.
Participating A better choice! retailers have welcomed the opportunity to find another way to be part of the local community, recognising and supporting local sporting clubs.
The campaign has supported a range of different sporting clubs across Victoria from local lifesaving nippers programs, youth basketball, little athletics, tennis, roller derby, soccer, football, netball clubs, golfers and more. The sporting clubs awarded with the sponsorships have reported they are using the much-needed funds to support operations, provide shading, and purchase new equipment. Certificate III Greengrocery program
The next Certificate III in Greengrocery course is due to commence in late January 2022. There is still time to sign up staff and this round of students will be the last group able to take advantage of generous government funding.
