Drug and alcohol testing at the Melbourne Market

When someone is affected by drugs and/or alcohol, it can be detrimental to their fitness for work and be a contributing factor in workplace incidents and injuries.

As a drug and alcohol-free site, Melbourne Market regularly conducts random drug and alcohol testing. Due to the random nature of the testing, some Market users may have been tested multiple times, while others may not have been tested. Everyone should expect to be tested at some point.

When Market users follow instructions and receive a negative test result, the whole process from start to finish takes just 8 minutes to complete, having minimal impact on your morning.

If you are randomly selected for a test, please be respectful to the Market Relations team assisting in the process and follow the tester’s instructions.

We all have a duty of care to provide a safe working environment for ourselves and all market users. Thank you for your continued understanding of this vital safety issue.

If you have any questions, please visit the Rules and Safety page on the Melbourne Market website linked here, or speak to a member of the operations team.

Thanks for buckling up

Seatbelts continue to be a focus for the safety of all market users.

Thank you to everyone who is doing their part. Please encourage your peers to do the same.
