Market shows generosity

A group of Market users came together on the trading floor yesterday to show just how much we raised toward the Victorian Bushfire appeal.
The Melbourne Market community raised a massive $34,775.35.
The MMA and Fresh State both chipped in $10,000 each, with other major contributors being, Fresh Mix Produce, Hai Ha Supplies, Produce Time and Biodynamic Marketing.
Thank you to all those who contributed to the appeal.

Golf Day spots still available

There’s just over a week left to book your spot on the golf course at the Melbourne Market Charity Golf Day.
Funds raised from the day go toward supporting DEBRA Australia, helping individuals, families and carers affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa.
There are two types of tickets available.
1. Keen golfers can register a team of four and spend the day playing a round in the magnificent surrounds of Heidelberg golf course. Golf ticket prices also include dinner and entertainment, a show bag and the opportunity to play the round with a celebrity
2. If you’re still keen to support a great cause, eat a great meal and see some hilarious entertainment, then you can purchase a dinner-only ticket for just $50!.
Visit the Fresh State website to grab your tickets today

One week left to submit your expressions of interest

There is just one week left to submit an expression of interest form to notify us of your potential interest in tenancy 51.
The Melbourne Market has a vision for Tenancy 51 to operate as a wholesale fruit and vegetable trading store going forward.
To be considered, you must complete the official online expression of interest form before Monday 9 March.
You can download an information pack and complete your online expression of interest form on the Melbourne Market website.

MMA Board and Management site visit

The MMA Board and management team recently travelled to the Swan Hill region to visit several horticulture businesses and meet with local government representatives.
The trip is part of the MMA’s commitment to continue to obtain a better understanding of the needs of our customer base and the challenges facing the industry.
The team visited and received site tours at Sunnyside Vineyard, Andrew Peace Winery and V.F. Siciliano & Sons.
All the businesses visited provided interesting insights into their operations, facilities and quality control. Issues surrounding export procedures and the challenges faced by the shortage of staff in the region were also discussed.
We thank everyone for their hospitality and providing great insights into the running of their businesses.
The board are keen to do more external site visits, if you are interested in hosting the MMA Board and management team for a tour, please email submissions@melbournemarket.com.au.

Valentine’s Day 2020

This year’s Valentine’s Day campaign, developed by the MMA and Flowers Victoria, was designed to drive people to ‘Do it Right’ and give fresh flowers.
Are you a greengrocer who also sells fresh flowers?
We’d love to hear from you to get your opinion on the recent Valentine’s Day marketing campaign and ideas for future campaigns.
Click here to complete the survey. The first 30 people to complete the survey will receive a $10 voucher to spend at participating Market cafes.
