– Free Vaccination Webinar for Authorised Workers
Access Card Audit
As communicated over the last couple of weeks, the MMA will commence an access card audit on Wednesday, 27 October.
Market users will not be audited every time they enter the site, with checks taking place at different times throughout the day and night.
When audited, market users will have their access card checked to confirm the following:
Each market user has their own valid access card
The access card is linked to the correct business type
Also from Wednesday, the MMA will be asking markets users to check in to the site via the Service Victoria app to show vaccination status. Those entering the site who are unvaccinated will be reported to their business principal and/or authorised officers (e.g. Police, WorkSafe, DHS) who can enforce CHO (Chief Health Officer) directions and issue fines.
An email was sent to market users last week detailing the mechanics and reasons for the audit, please click here to read.
In anticipation of this process coming into effect, you should ensure you have the following in place by Wednesday 27 October:
You have your own access card that you carry with you, correctly linked to your business type
Your evidence of vaccination (if double dosed) is linked to the Services Victoria app.
You have documented evidence of vaccination if single dosed (such as a copy of your immunisation history statement)
Victoria’s Roadmap and Market Restrictions Update
The Victorian government yesterday outlined details of the next phase of Victoria’s roadmap, to commence at 6pm Friday.
Summary of changes for Phase C of the roadmap, from 6pm, Friday 29 October
Victorians are free to move between Melbourne and regional Victoria and the state aligns under one set of rules;
All retail can reopen subject to relevant density quotients, and caps increase for pubs, clubs, and entertainment venues;
Masks are only required to be worn inside;
Up to 30 people including dependants can gather outside;
People can return to work if fully vaccinated, although advice in summary roadmap remains to “work from home if you can”;
School returns to a regular schedule and on-site adult education returns for fully vaccinated students.
The updated roadmaps can be found here:
Summary of Total Roadmap
So what does this mean for the Melbourne Market?
From 6pm Friday, the following rules will come into effect:
Masks will only be required to be worn indoors
Visitors will once again be allowed into the market, however, all visitors must be fully vaccinated
Multiple people can ride in electric vehicles and buggies together; however, when travelling with passengers, masks must be worn in buggies at all times, indoors and outdoors, because of the inability to social distance
There will be no limits in cafes and seated service can return
Gate 2 & 3 will remain closed to facilitate the access card audit
