Bullying & Harassment have no home at the Melbourne Market

Nobody deserves to come to work in an environment where they are subject to bullying or harassment. As a community, we all expect each other to act reasonably and responsibly, treating others with the same respect we would give our family and friends.

Name-calling, swearing, abusive language, intentionally excluding, intimidation and threats are all acts of bullying and harassment.

We all want a Melbourne Market we are proud of, an environment where we would be proud for our sons, daughters, partners, and parents to be involved.
When at work, ask yourself, would my family be proud to see me now?

Have you been the victim of bullying or harassment in the market?
If you would like to seek support, confidentially discuss or report an issue relating to racism, sexism, violence, bullying or harassment in the Melbourne Market, please email strongertogether@melbournemarket.com.au or call 0448 413 098.

Please visit the Stronger Together website for further information and support.

Joint Market Advisory Committee Meeting Summary

Last week, the MMA hosted a joint advisory committee meeting of all four advisory committees. During the meeting, the MMA provided an update on projects and, in turn, received feedback from members on key issues to help the market run smoother.

The main items discussed during the meeting included the market hours project. The group discussed the current market trading hours and talked through proposed strategies to ensure face-to-face buying only occurs during the designated trading hours.

Advisory committee members are a great source of information and advice for market users. To find out who the members of the advisory committees are, please visit the MMA website.

Importance of Headlights

As per the Operating Rules, headlights must be on while a forklift is in operation. Headlights are essential for maintaining a safe operating environment within the market. Without headlights, your forklift may not be visible to pedestrians and other vehicle operators, which puts you and other market users in a vulnerable position.

When operating a forklift, please remember the Forklift Safety Checklist:

Festivities will kick off at 5am with face painting, food and a handball competition with great prizes up for grabs!Celebrate all the footy fun at the roadway between Customer Service and Art & Style on Tuesday, 26 and Wednesday, 27 September.
