Children in the Market Success

After a long two years, it was great to see so many children back in the market!

Thank you to everyone for your vigilance and prioritising safety while we welcomed 38 children into the market over the two days. The children enjoyed seeing familiar faces and some new ones whilst taking in the magnitude of the market. The market community is known for their generosity and this event was no different, with many market users making the kids feel especially welcomed with special treats. From buggy rides to exotic fruit lessons with the Fruit Nerd, the children were thoroughly entertained and had a blast!

We are already looking forward to the next Children in the Market event during the June school
holidays!

Foodbank Donations

Designed by leading architects Peddle Thorp and Bruce Henderson Interiors, Mantra Epping opened its doors in May 2019. The two-wing hotel, featuring 214 rooms including one & two bedroom interconnecting apartments is a new-build $80 million development in Melbourne’s northern growth corridor positioned to service the needs of the local business enterprise. Mantra Epping has successfully redefined the level of design and guest services for the Mantra brand and is recognised as the benchmark for new hotel developments.

The hotel offers state of the art conferencing facilities for up to 500 delegates, together with a range of unique food and beverage offerings. Republic Tavern, the microbrewery on site with a capacity to host 300 guests has quickly become a popular hangout for the locals and hotel patrons alike, offering an extensive range of home brewed beer, gin and vodka.

The hotel has remained operational throughout the pandemic, providing accommodation to frontline medical staff and Australian Deference Force medical units who were supporting the Aged Care sector, providing them with a clean, comfortable & safe “home away from home” experience.

We also joined an initiative of the Victorian Government, assisting in providing a safe & secure accommodation program for fully vaccinated Australian citizens and permanent residents over past 12 months. This initiative assisted us in keeping the community safe and monitoring compliance for fully vaccinated travellers returning home. During this period, we were able to retain every single member of our hotel team and employ another 250 members from the aviation & hospitality industry at large, who otherwise would have been unemployed.

We will be reopening our doors to the public on Tuesday 19th April 2022 offering a full buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner at Republic Tavern and overnight accommodation.

New ripening products gain a foothold in Australia

Fresh produce facilities had only one choice for ethylene application, and it wasn’t the one most ripeners in many parts of the world were using.
