Get ready for Mother’s Day

The countdown is on to Mother’s Day and there is no better place to purchase your Mother’s Day stock than the National Flower Centre.

Year after year flowers are the most popular Mother’s Day gift across the country. In the coming week, the NFC will be filled with an array of colourful blooms perfect for Mum. Think chrysanthemums, carnations, orchids, roses and so much more.

Fun fact: chrysanthemums are particularly popular on Mother’s Day as its name contains the word ‘mum’. The popular flower also symbolises life and respect.

Mother’s Day Mum Moment Campaign

The current Mother’s Day campaign which encourages consumers to make a special Mum Moment with flowers is currently running and gaining traction. You may have heard our advertisements on Nova 100 and Smooth FM or seen our competition winners rolling in on our socials.

There is still time for florists to get involved with the campaign by using the complimentary point-of-sale material available to collect from the NFC. You can also share Mum Moment content on your social media here.

Remember to follow and tag @melbourne.market and @NationalFlowerCentre for all your posts.

For all enquiries, phone Theresa, Marketing Specialist on 9258 6191.

Creating a Market we are all proud of

The Melbourne Market is a unique environment made up of people from diverse backgrounds. It’s a great place where people work hard, look out for one another, are generous, and enjoy having a laugh together.

We all want a Melbourne Market where everyone feels included, where people feel safe and are treated with respect. A place free of racism, sexism, discrimination, harassment, violence and bullying – and currently, feedback from many of you suggests we need to do better as a market community.

Let’s work together to stamp out the behaviours we don’t want and to continue to work towards building a Melbourne Market that we are all proud to be a part of.

We’re looking for a range of people, from business principals to employees, sellers, and buyers alike, to volunteer and join our existing working group who are leading this cultural change initiative with the MMA.

Our working group members come together for an hour once every 2-3 months to share their advice and perspectives, test ideas and continue to develop the strategy that will create a more inclusive Melbourne Market.

Together with our working group, we look forward to sharing campaigns and resources to assist businesses to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.

We all have a role to play. We are Stronger Together.

Annual Flu Vaccine & Covid-19 Boosters now available

As the weather gets cooler, it’s a timely reminder to protect ourselves as we head into flu season. Annual flu vaccinations are recommended in April and May, as protection peaks three to four months post-vaccination. Those over the age of 65 are eligible for a free flu vaccination.

The flu vaccination alone will not protect you from Covid-19 and boosters are still recommend and readily available for free.

For further information talk to your GP or visit DPV Health.
