Mother’s Day celebration

One of the busiest days for the Flower Market has finished for another year and it was fantastic to see support for this year’s Mother’s Day Campaign.

Check out the beautiful Instagram images below posted by florists @artstemsonlygon and @mademoisellefleur who utilised the #bloomsformum hashtag.

Vote in the Mystery Box Challenge

Don’t forget to support the floristry students from Melbourne Polytechnic who’ve taken part in the Melbourne Flower Market Mystery Box Challenge.

It’s been a great opportunity for students to be exposed to the Market as well as introducing the Market community to the Melbourne Polytechnic floristry programs and training.

The students have embraced the project as you can see from the images below.

Their mystery box creations will be on display tomorrow and we invite you to vote for the arrangement you feel is most creative.

There will be coloured tokens representing each of the floral displays – place your chosen token into the box and the student with the most tokens will be named the winner of the challenge.

Queen’s Birthday public holiday trading hours

Please note the following trading hours for the Queen’s Birthday public holiday:

Flower Market:

Monday 12 June: Market closed

If your parking permit only allows access on a day where a public holiday falls and you would like to come to the Market on an alternative adjacent day, you will not be charged for parking and can enter the Market. However, please note your regular bay may not be available. Please seek instruction from a Market Relations Officer on arrival.

Fruit and Vegetable Market:

Monday 12 June: Market closed
Tuesday 13 June: 3.30am to 7.30am (one hour earlier than usual)

Warehouse access remains unchanged. Access for warehouse tenants is 24 hours 7 days a week.
