| Coronavirus (COVID-19) update – Friday 18 December With locally acquired COVID-19 cases from the NSW Northern Beaches cluster growing to 17 over the past three days, the Victorian Government has implemented new border and quarantine restrictions. At the moment the key message is; if you’ve been in the Northern Beaches area since December 11, stay at home and get tested. In relation to operations at the Melbourne Market, if you think you may have been exposed or have been to these locations, even if you are showing no symptoms, you must not come to the Market to work or to purchase produce. You should also contact the DHHS on 1800 675 398 and arrange to have a COVID test. New DHHS travel and quarantine restrictions are as follows: – Anyone who was in the Northern Beaches region or other NSW exposure sites on or since Friday 11 December 2020 and is already in Victoria should get tested and quarantine in their home or accommodation for 14 days from the date they left the Northern Beaches. – Anyone who was in the Northern Beaches region or other NSW exposure sites on or since Friday 11 December 2020 and arrives in Victoria after midnight Thursday 17 December 2020, must get tested and quarantined in their home or accommodation for 14 days from the date they left the Northern Beaches. The Victorian Government are expected to announce further advice for travellers arriving into Victoria from the Northern Beaches or other NSW exposure sites later today. Importance of Social Distancing At the Melbourne Market we have all worked so hard to keep the market community safe and businesses operating through this pandemic. Now more than ever, the importance of adhering to social distancing rules is essential. You must remain at least 1.5 metres from other Market users wherever possible, and you should continue to carry a face mask with you at all times and you put it on when you are not able to maintain social distancing.
