– Permit System
– Use of Access Cards

Permit System
From 11:59pm tonight, businesses that require their staff to work on site, must issue a worker permit to their employees.

To issue a worker permit, employers will need:
– Name, ABN, company address and trading name
– The name and date of birth of the employee
– The employee’s regular hours and place of work
– To meet all eligibility criteria, including that the business is a permitted
activity
– To meet all relevant legal obligations
– To have a COVID-19 safe plan in place
– To authorise a person or people to issue the worker permit.

You can find out more about the work permit and a link to download the work permit template at https://www.justice.vic.gov.au/permitted-worker-scheme.

For those businesses that have not yet issued permits to their workers, you will note on the Department of Justice website it states that: An employee may travel to work without a worker permit once to get their first permit.

Melbourne Market Access Cards
It is a Market Operating Rule that all Market users must carry their access card with them at all times and that access cards are not transferable.

This is even more important during stage 4 restrictions.

You must not use anyone else’s access card to swipe through the Market entry gate. It is not acceptable to keep a single access card in a vehicle, with multiple employees from a particular business using the one card.

Penalties will apply for those found to be sharing access cards.

If you have misplaced your access card please contact Customer Service on 9258 6123.
