Code of Conduct – Acceptable Market Behaviour
The Melbourne Market must be an inclusive, respectful and welcoming environment where everyone feels safe and is treated with respect. We are a diverse community of people from many backgrounds, and forms of anti-social behaviour in the market, such as racism, sexism, discrimination, harassment, violence or bullying are unacceptable.
The Melbourne Market’s ‘Stronger Together’ initiative supports the market community and helps ensure we have a Melbourne Market culture we can all be proud of through awareness, education, and policies focusing on diversity, inclusivity and respect.
As part of Stronger Together, the Melbourne Market’s Code of Conduct and Reporting Procedure is designed to outline the expected standards of behaviour in the market, the roles and responsibilities we all have and how those who experience offensive, harmful or anti-social behaviours can report the conduct and seek support.
Through Stronger Together, we aim to empower market users to speak up and feel supported when experiencing or witnessing anti-social and unsafe behaviours.
If you or someone you know has experienced unacceptable behaviour such as racism, sexism, discrimination, harassment, violence or bullying, you can seek support and make a report via email to strongertogether@melbournemarket.com.au or by telephone 0448 413 098.
MMA staff, including but not limited to Market Relations Officers, are available on the market floor to assist individuals needing initial support in managing unacceptable or reportable behaviour. Additional support and resources can be accessed on MMA’s website. |
