Coronavirus (COVID-19) update – Thursday 28 July Vaccination Hub to re-open at the Melbourne Market One of the most effective ways to protect yourself and your loved ones from severe illness from COVID-19 is by getting vaccinated. The MMA is pleased to be able to offer onsite COVID-19 vaccination for two separate days in August for all market users. Vaccination hub details When: Two days only. Thursday 4 August and Thursday 18 August, 7 am – 11 am. Where: A private screened-off area within Art & Style retail store, next to Customer Service on the Buyers’ Walk. Vaccines available: Pfizer and Novavax vaccinations will be available for anyone requiring a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd vaccine dose; 4th vaccinations are available for anyone over 30. Getting your vaccination: No booking is required; vaccinations will be administered via a walk-in service. You will need to bring your medicare card and a form of photo ID with you. An additional booster, or fourth dose, is recommended for people at increased risk of severe illness, to be given three months after their first booster dose. It is recommended you should get a fourth dose if you are: 50 years or older (ATAGI has advised people aged 30 to 49 years old can receive a fourth dose if they choose) Severely immunocompromised (this will be a fifth dose) Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander If you have recently had COVID-19, you should wait three months before receiving a COVID-19 vaccine after your confirmed infection. For more information regarding recommended boosters for your age group and your individual health circumstances, visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/get-vaccinated. The upcoming Vaccination Hub will be run by DPV Health. DPV Health is a not-for-profit organisation that offers health care services to people of all ages. DPV Health has been providing COVID-19 Vaccinations across the City of Hume and Whittlesea over the last two years. They have managed numerous pop-up vaccination clinics and currently still operate a Vaccination Hub at Hume Global Learning Centre Broadmeadows. This will be the Melbourne Market’s fourth pop-up COVID-19 Vaccination Hub over the past 12 months, making vaccination for our market community straightforward, quick and hassle-free, particularly given the non-typical hours worked by many market users. The MMA encourages anyone who wants a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th vaccine dose to take advantage of this latest on-site vaccine clinic. |
