The A better choice! Christmas giveaway has kicked off with over 400 entries in the first week.
The competition will run until the 17th of December, and there are thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes to be won, with winners drawn daily.

When entering the competition customers nominate their favourite local greengrocer. Our first eight lucky winners have been customers from, Fruits of Life, Finer Fruit Shepparton, Henrys Mercato Stud Park, The Spud Shed, 7 Days Fresh, Fruitland Ringwood East, Altona Fresh and Tirupathi Indian Grocery Mini Mart; all A better choice! member stores.

It’s not too late to get involved, watch the video below to find out how your store can participate and offer your customers the chance to win! Dee from A better choice! explains how to get involved in the Christmas giveaway promotion. A Better Choice feedback

Urban blooms bring life to city

The Melbourne Market Authority was proud to throw its support behind Urban Blooms, where Melbourne’s florists took over icon landmarks in spectacular style.
Floral installations brought life and colour to Melbourne’s streets, with large-scale blooms popping up in laneways, on buildings, and in prominent public locations to attract people back to the city to support local businesses.
Inspired by displays seen in Paris, New York and London, creator Elizabeth Ricci pitched the idea to the city of Melbourne as part of their $100 million Melbourne City recovery Fund.  There were 18 floral installations creating a bright path through the city, encouraging people to walk past and pose for a photo over a two-week period from Saturday 14 November 2020 to Friday 27 November 2020.
Congratulations to the local florists, growers and city of Melbourne for putting on such a fabulous event. It received a huge amount of media coverage and was a driver to bring life back to the City of Melbourne.

You should continue to wear a face mask at all times while at the market

The Melbourne Market is a unique and busy environment where people regularly move back and forth between indoor and outdoor spaces. Due to the nature of operations at the market, people often come into close proximity with one another in both indoor and outdoor spaces that are densely populated, and it is not always possible to practice social distancing.
For these reasons, market users should continue to wear a face mask at all times while on-site at the Melbourne Market.

Detailed information regarding current COVID restrictions at the Market can be found at www.melbournemarket.com.au/melbourne-market-coronavirus-covid-19-response/.

We’d like to extend a warm thanks to the Market community who generously supported us in 2020.
We wish you all a safe and enjoyable break and see you in the New Year!
